Neve Zemer Commercial Center in Ra’anana is a three-story retail and office building designed as an “urban villa.” The project is located in the heart of the green Neve Zemer neighborhood, at the intersection between the park and the public transportation axis.
The building’s architectural design is based on an open, horizontal geometry, creating natural connections between the park’s pathways, pedestrian routes, and the urban square. The three floors of the building surround an open inner courtyard that serves as a vibrant social hub.
Slender steel columns, glass pergolas, curtain walls and layered horizontal planes provide transparency, lightness, and abundant natural daylight.
A system of vertical bullnose elements was designed as a variable curtain, opaque in technical areas and open in commercial zones, creating a dynamic visual rhythm that reflects the building’s varying uses.
Vertical circulation between the floors is provided by a transparent glass elevator and escalators, enhancing the sense of movement and openness.
The main design challenge was balancing structural proportions with a human scale, while addressing level differences and ensuring natural integration with Weizmann and Sasha Argov Streets and the municipal park.
As an open-air retail center, Neve Zemer Commercial Center plays a key role in the neighborhood, serving as both a commercial and social anchor that offers a unique and inviting experience throughout the day.
