Planned to be the main teaching hospital in the country with a teaching center for the medical core, the 434-bed Hôpital d’Instruction des armées de Brazzaville will provide medical services to military personnel, policemen, and their families (20% of it's activity free of charge) and to the general population (80% of it's activity).
The long, narrow site was put to advantage, by arranging the many hospital functions in a linear form with separate entrances, but connected by a main artery. Constructed of materials such as stone covered concrete, aluminum and glass, the 5-storey main building will include emergency rooms and various hospitalization units. Having the needs of the patients in mind, emphasis is put on accessibility and orientation as well as on the recuperation promoting natural environment.
This medical center will be the epitome of innovation and professionalism. The design is functional, flexible and able to adapt to future changes in the medical area.
