This design competition was for a 1.5 million sq.m addition to the small town of Briansk, some 300 km. north of Moscow.
The project consists of residential, commercial and office zones, along with public zones, municipality buildings and open parks. Briansk's main boulevards have been designed to form a triangle, with a large open park at its heart. One of these boulevards is located on the historic landing strip of the military air force base that once occupied this area.
The high-rises are placed along the main boulevard and are in line with the open park to the south, while in the northern part of town are located low-rise residential buildings that are confined to the north by the river.
