The project is located in the Gilo neighborhood in southern Jerusalem whose purpose is to upgrade and change the area. It includes the demolition and construction of new buildings and upgrading of public areas. The plan includes seven existing residential buildings that will be demolished and five new buildings that will be built in their place. More than 500 units will be added, as well as additional commercial space.
An orderly planning of the project offers integral open areas that will create a sequence of improved buildings and public spaces. The optimal positioning of the residential buildings aids in the development of a neighborhood park in the heart of the project. The program also provides public spaces to preserve and improve the life of the residents, including kindergartens, a synagogue and a mikveh.
The main challenge was dealing with the high terrain and complex topography which required a new way of thinking in spatial planning.
